How tight is yours? Mine is a 1c could that be a factor?

Sounds like you need a 3600 stall and 2 step 3400, then lock third to keep your top end.

Ill have to try the converter lock on nov 10 when I go to a quarter mile track at lena also my over-load springs are still on the truck but plan on taking them off to see if it helps transfer better. That might bring down 60ft also

Iv read that the caltracs work better if the overload is out...
I think wrapping the pipes will help alot too

My springs started to bend with the overload out, for the cal tracs to push down on the front of the leaf spring and push the axle/tire down into the pavement with axle torque, it needs some way to get it there. I dont think taking it out did me any favors. Heading back to the track hopefully sometime in the next week to see if that was the case. I have a 3400 stall and while I don't have anything similar to compare to, I like it. I need to spend some time seeing if I can lock it up in third reliably since I put an even taller gear in. Yank PY3400.

Yank builds pretty efficient converters, with the Pro Yanks likely being their most efficient ones. I would calculate converter slip before considering locking the clutch. Many Yanks are single disc and locking those at WOT will destroy them almost instantly.
