The balancer on the GenIII engines is not keyed, like the older small blocks. It's a press fit. When you start changing the pulley to a smaller size, you can, under certain circumstances spin the balancer on the crank snout, losing boost. Magnuson sells a kit to dril, and pin the crank so that doesn't happen anymore.
