Default Anybody know jack about turbo systems?

I've got an STS rear mount turbo kit on my silverado pushing about 9lbs. of boost. My only problem with it is that it isn't great off the line...Anyone have any clue how to build more boost faster? Would wrapping my intake tubing with exhaust wrap help that out? Any suggestions?

Wrap you're exhaust from the manifolds to th turbo. Repair any exhaust leaks.
Get some high flow cats and install a fifty shot. A 2500 to 3000 stall would help you get out of the hole faster.

Change your converter.

You can also do the syty shuffle on the line to build boost before you leave.

Wrap your exhaust tubing and your exhuast tubing only. Wraping the intake will only keep the charge air hot. It's best to leave the intake tubing unwrapped and let it dissipate the heat as best it can.

I see you have a 4.8L, what size turbo are you running? What size A/R? If you have a .81, and a stock converter, then switch to a .68 A/R. You can also add fuel while you're brake boosting. The extra unburnt fuel will help spool the turbine.

How do you add fuel while brake boosting?

If you have tuning software and you're running a SD tune, then you just fatten up the cells that you're in while brake boosting. It's worked pretty well for me while tooling around and practicing my launches. I haven't tried it at the track yet with slicks though.

So would you fatten it up in your PE EQ vs RPM table or VE vs RPM vs MAP ?
