Ok guys I posted on the internal engine forum a while back about this. I have recently finished my build, of my friends 04 Regency RST. As I got the truck it was completely factory engine, drivetrain, everything.
So I started with pulling the engine. Installed ARP rod bolts. Pulled out the old cam, after inspecting the cam bearings they had to be replaced, due to numer 3 being down to brass. Installed the new cam that I had picked out. I took the heads to the machine shop that I go though and had them port polish and revalve the heads. I think we ended up getting 2.00/1.55's in them. Installed comp 918 springs w/ titanium retainers. Comp push rods, guide plates, and 1.75 RR's. Also installed ARP main studs.
Threw the engine back in, after installing the Spec Stage 2+ clutch, and installed the D1 ProCharger with 3-Core innercooler. I installed the 42# injectors and headed off to the dyno tune.
After it was all said and done we ended up with 460 rwtq and 480 rwhp. Not too shabby for just a little 'ol 4.8L
Makes me think about doing some work on my Regency.
