for comparison sake....I had the same parameters but with a 2800rpm stalled converter and 6500rpm shift points, here is what we found when we degree'd the cam:

my EDC measured cam specs @ .050 came out to:

224/238.5 600/586.5 115.875LSA, 3.375 advanced

I can see already that your snout pulley is too big. You haven't even broken the first ring land you're in need of a smaller pulley.
Lol, it's a 2.9" RIP pulley

I asked him about the 220/234 cam...let me cut and paste...the 1st sentence is about the pushrods for the cam he spec'd

2. I also have a Comp custom 220/234 .581 .598 115* (no advance) Attached cam card. What advantages/disadvantages do you see over this cam and the one you spec’d? Enough to warrant ordering the new cam?

The recommended cam will make quite a bit more power while still having good street manners. Also, the lobes I've chosen are more stable under boost because of their endurance configuration.

The only real differences I see are the increased intake duration of 7* and the advance by aboot 2 1/4*

How did the measured specs compare with the advertised specs?

Always heard you need to check/degree a new cam. I'm going to have to admit here for all to see.......that the next cam I degree in....will be my first.

I started looking for something fun to put together.
Found a short block for sale. Bought it. Found some heads. Bought them. Found a TVS2300. Will buy soon. Gonna need a blower cam. Gonna need a meth kit, I think.
So far I have the short block:

Brand new gm 6.0 block-Arias -3cc forged pistons-Total seal piston rings--Eagle forged H beam rods-Eagle 4.0 forged crank with 58x reluctor wheel-Clevite H main bearings-Clevite G rod bearings-All ARP bolts-brand new truck oil pan -new ls2 front and rear covers-ls7 cam sprocket-ls2 chain-ls2 lifter trays-ls7 lifters-high volume melling oil pump-cam spec'ed out for this motor. 231/239 617/624 lift 113+4 (gonna swap this)
The heads are from Richard at WCCH. They are LSA heads (LS9/ZR1) flow 350CFM at.600/ 75cc chambers w/Patriot Extreme Gold springs
Lingenfelter 58X to 24X crank trigger conversion box, LS9 head gaskets, ARP head bolts, ARP crank bolt. Thinking about an UD balancer.
The blower: TVS2300, 60# injectors, HD tensioner, intake tubing, and front bracket. Don’t know the pulley size yet. Nose drive/\.
With the CR at 10.4:1 I plan to run 10psi. I’m not sure what the TVS2300 will do on a 408.
All this will run through my PI triple disc 2600rpm converter and built 4l80E, 3” OD aluminum drive shaft w/1350 yokes, and my..wait for it…lol…10 bolt w/Eaton posi and 4.10 gears.
Current plan is to get a running tune and drive it 3hrs to TX Speed for a dyno tune.
Might have it together by March.
Comments? Suggestions?
Why are you running the 4L80e why not run the 4L65e or the 4L60e? lighter and less hp to turn it up. Just asking and wondering I don't know it all??

Reliability. He will probably be pushing upwards of 700hp with this setup depending on boost. A built 65e from a good builder will last for a while, but the 80e has a much better track record with big power in heavy trucks and a built one will last a very long time and high power levels. Much easier to only do a trans once.
