so i have been talking to alot of people today. and i was thing about going to a 427, but i have been told that the 88mm would not like the 427 at all. so im looking at going 427 and a bigger turbo. like the 91mm t4, but i was told it would be no better. or twins. dont want to go twins because of the never ending story of money blowing.., or just keep the same set up and just shoot some gas to it...
i was all so told that a 408 8.6:1, trickflow 235, and the 88mm turbo will not make 1000rwhp???? i did not think it was done at 821rwhp with the stock heads and 18* of timing on pump gas..??
just help me out...

Parish made over 1000 with a PT88 on a 408 with AFR heads. If you go bigger Id check into one of Forced Inductions S series, they are badass turbos. They use a T6 flange and the new borg warner wheels. What all do you have to buy to stay with a 408? If you have to replace the block and pistons Id go LSx 427, if you dont have to fix anything but new pistons Id stay with the 408.

If you're not in a hurry another member is about to switch hotpipes only and compare a log manifold style kit vs Nelson's two into one kit on the same turbo and same pressure. We're thinking the main restriction is the log and not the turbo. The truck made awesome power at 8lbs but had decreasing gains as it was turned up to 15. Once it's done we will post up results but not until two solid dyno's for comparison. Your set-up is very similar to mine and I would recommend Nelson's kit on forced inductions new 91mm T6 with 1.08 AR.

I wouldn't even consider the T6 to have lag but more of a gradual transition from vacuum to boost controlled by the gas pedal. On the street the 88mm has 0 boost under 1/2 throttle which makes it nice for daily driving but anything over and it comes in instantly. This lets you accelerate without breaking loose until you want to. I can only build 1 or 2 psi at launch but that was good enough for a 1.68 60ft. I'm changing out my 13" rotors to 14" all around and that should let me take off with 2-3lbs and maybe drop to a low 1.6 or high 1.5. That low of a 60ft is what I think it will take to run 10s. It breaks loose up to 80mph if you floor it all the way.
