have you tried to add more fuel instead of timing?

i put a pyro in one of my subarus, it would cruise down the hwy at 80mph and run 1450-1500 deg egt pre turbo, that is pretty avg for gas vehicles i think

Boosted, thanks for the info on the spool valve. I think I might go that direction. Was at first targeting a 76mm turbo counting on the initial hit at about 2500r's then achieving 600 rwhp when it max's out. But, with the spool valve, I might be able to go bigger yet still pull down low.

BW 475 will get you up near 1000whp no problem. I mapped it for you figuring you've got 85% VE. Most dyno sheets I've seen with stock engines work out to around that. If you add an intake and cam, you'd be up in the 90-95% range. All that would do is shift your required air to the right, which you'd be off the more efficient islands for 6500 rpm. Assuming you've got a big enough intercooler, it wouldn't be a problem.

Here's why 80mm are laggy on 4.8L's lol

Notice how 2000 & 3000 rpm aren't even on the map. Holds true to the fact considering I don't see boost until 3200 rpm.

S480 on 6.0L with intake and cam (assuming it helps haha) 95% VE. 80mm is a pretty nice turbo for an efficient 6.0L.

A couple years ago I took a ride in Smokeshow's nnbs ex cab with a T6 S475. Thing pulled hard but definitely had lag. And that was on a 6.0. I laugh everytime I see someone on tech claiming their S480/4.8/5.3 has no lag.

I agree. its a turd for sure. It'll get better with a intake, cam and some nitrous lol.
