4.8 Turbo Build. Need a lil help with cam/turbo.

Well ordered a set of DeatschWerks 60lb injectors yesterday. Hopefully i can finish the fuel system soon and get this truck boosted! Still need to decide on fuel rails and regulator.

i have been averaging 21 rwhp per lb of boost. So add another ~60 wheel would get you to 550ish, then a cam and meth... 600 should be realistic for sure.
If you doing cam and studs and gaskets I would think you would also do lifters and the other "worn" items. Do it once and enjoy. Good luck man, keep this updated.

I have been contemplating on how much to money to put on "worn" parts. It has 205,000+ miles. Should i just put that extra several hundred dollars towards forged internals for when she blows? I mean how long its it really going to last with that many miles when the boost comes on? My plan is to get it going and start buying forged rods, pistons, bearings, lifters, oil pump, etc, etc. Get motor built. Then upgrade turbo and be done. Hopefully i will have a stout and reliable 4.8. thought about going forged 6.0 but its just going to be a fun street truck. I figure built 4.8 and spec'd turbo will give me more than enough power for the street.

Fuel pump and injector came in. Ordered the eBay silverado fuel rails. Now I need to decide on regulator. Think I'm going to buy a junkyard motor with 60k miles or so vs spend the same amount freashing up my high mile motor.

Well getting truck parts ordered was delayed for the last month or so. Been working on a 12x32 storage building. I did however order a DEI turbo blanket and 50' exhaust wrap this morning. Looking to order oil catch can system next. What will do the job? RX system looks good. Is it worth the money? $400 for dual valve kit w/ standard hose or $459 for monster can kit w/ standard hose. $40 for breather oil fill cap. Here's a few pics of current progress on the building and a few truck parts laying around.

Been idle for awhile on the truck with new baby and other hobbies. Still gathering parts needed to complete the project. Started a thread in the WTB section.
