Here is some pics of a 12rib pulleys we built for a customer.
No plans to build any more and I have 1 extra of these right now. It was a HUGE amount or work. A lot more then I thought I would be. LOL

And weigh 4lbs. lol
3" is all I have, I might send the extra one to the customer so he has a spare.
Customer picked up a 12rib crank pulley. Its a standalone drive so the oem stuff is still driven with a 6 rib.
All is good, I have trimmed way back from days of old. And its really paid off, in health and sanity.
Sorry no 8rib, stuff. I am thinking of going all 8 or 10 rib for my set up. Just have to get it all worked out.
I was told the 10rib would smoke the bearing in the altenator/water pump etc.
I figure if that happened I could build a pulley support to help the loading issue, if that happens.
With more ribs, you really should need less tension on the belt to get the same traction.
Might start off with a stock tensioner and see what happens.

what's the reasoning behind hurting the bearings? Because you are moving further away from the bearing due to wider belt? I wanted to see you make a crank pulley too! Is the 12 rib on customers car in front of or behind the 6

I will find out and if it breaks, just fix it and move on.
. The pulley is in front of the stock drive.
No plans to make anymore atvthus time. But if someone wants, we can build, it's just money. LoL
another option would be to go with a cog set up.
