Default STS Exhaust pipe rusted through

I have been doing some searches and can not find references to the STS exhaust pipe rusting through. Mine has finally rusted through near the wastegate. Is there a good supplier of a replacement pipe in stainless?

May be able to sent the part to kb or Trick and have them build you a beefier piece out of s/s (for a small fee of course) Or go to a reputable exhaust shop and then keep up on maintanence like cleaning and painting the pipe with a high temp paint...

Funny how this is the only part that has any rust. The rest of the system is just as old and still looks new. I think they used crap steel. Good SS should fix the problem for good. I'll call the local exhaust shops. Curious to see if it has happened to others or if there is a known supplier making the replacement pipe. A lot of guys are doing the innercoolers, figured someone would be doing the exhaust pipe as well. Even if it is for the home grown Turbo kits, it should work exactly the same.

You're not the only one. My STS pipes are rusting in the same place. The rust hasn't made it all the way through, but I'm sure it will given enough time. Reason #3,547 I contacted KB Racing and am now going front mount

BTW - I love the Dilbert cartoon

I have had to make a few mods to the rear mount, but right now I have it running the way I like. I'll stick with it for a while, just need a good quality pipe right now. ;-)

Do you guys know if it is a T3 Turbo and a TIAL Wastegate flange? Jegs and Summit have the parts.

I'd make one up out of 316 stainless. That will last.

I agree, just need to find someone that can do it right. I go to Columbus at least once or twice a year, do you have someone in the area you trust?

I have a brand new one, never used. It was the second type, the one with the wastegate mounted so it would not fill with condensation and freeze.
I am going front mount one of these years, or as soon as things calm down on the new house purchase. I tried finding a pic of it on my computer but I guess i will have to take a pic if you are interested in possibly buying it.
