Default 03-06 procharger kit on a 99-02 NBS

Hey everyone

Just curious is anyone has ran the 03-06 kit on an older Silverado or Sierra. Reason I ask is I hate the placement of the intercooler(down below) on the 99-02 kit. Would rather have it behind the grille in the 03-06 kit

Any incite, or knowledge of if it'll work would be great

Thanks

believe it or not the lower the intercooler the better, youll see a cooler charge down low

but you can install a intercooler behind the grill but it wont be bolt on, youll need to slide rad towards motor some slide ac condenser towards motor some and mod the A-frame

or ditch the AC and place it souly there

Last I checked, doesn't the 03-06 kit mount the intercooler down low as well?

should work just fine.

I did the opposite by putting the older kit on a newer truck and had no problems.

I thought i remeber reading that the newer kit on an older truck results in cutting the bumper supports or something

Blown06 has it right, 99-06 were all mounted low under the bumper. Only difference between the kits was the bracket in 99-02. Behind the grill was normally a custom job that required cutting A frame. Under the bumper is fine even for a 600-700hp truck, if the temps get to high just add meth.

Are you referring just to the intercooler or the bracket as well? I have a 99-02 bracket I was getting ready to replace with an 03-06 to use on my 03 but I haven't looked into if anything can be done to use the old style bracket.

I run the intercooler in the grill. (procharger unit) and love it.

Honestly, the temp drop seems to be about the same, but my truck is slammed, so I didn't want the intercooler near the 130+ degree road surface we get here in summer, so the grill works for me.
