how good r the ls6 heads , i thought they would at least be compatible with the wcc heads that r on the 5.3

no link on the heads they were put on at nelson performance a 1 1/2 ago

your heads and cam on that shortblock with the LS6 intake would be an awesome combo for a truck

i gained 6/10 with my .4 liters....stock cam to stock cam in comparible weather. the difference between a ls1 and lq9 is a toss-up IMO. ls1 was an under rated motor on paper and has some weight savings to go with it. i would drop in either motor. look at the difference between a 4.8 and 5.3. that .5 makes a huge difference.

gained 3/10 and 5mph in the 1/4 with patriot ls6 heads.


trade him short blocks. keep your heads and put them on the ls1 (depending on head specs)
