Default doing away with cats????

I am planning on doing a custom exhaust without cats, and was wondering what will happen with the o2 sensors, and the computer?

Thanks Chad...

Front or rear O2 sensors? If you remove the rear O2's it will throw codes relating to the catalytic converters and the MIL may or may not put your truck in limp mode. If you get a set of MIL eliminators then there won't be a problem as the rear O2's have nothing to do with how the engine fuels. If you can just do what I did and have the rear O2's and EGR system deleted from the PCM...

Thanks for the reply. how do I have or where would I go to have the rear O2's and EGR system deleted from the PCM? And if that won't work where can I get a set of MIL eliminators?

Thanks,

Chad

Give the folks at KRC a call, they do lots with the Dakota 5.9L and would be a good starting point. Check www.krcperformance.com for their website and contact info.
Not sure if you can kill that many emission items unless you are doing "off road" type of usage.

I think that he will be alright on the emissons part of the install. The truck will only have 1 o2 sensor when he is complete with the install. I think he just wants to know what doesd he have to do to keep the computer happy....

I havent check recently but when I was still station in North Carolina the autozone there sold them for about $50 each. All you had to do for my applicaton was unplug the wires going to the 02 sensor and plug them into the 02 sim and find somewhere to mount it out of the way so it was not hanging there.
