Default 88 TBI problems. Please help.

A friend of mine has an 88 TBI 350 and it will crank and injectors spray, but gets no spark. He has replaced ignition control module, electronic spark control module, pickup coil, cap and rotor, and coil. He has power from the coil to the cap but no spark from the cap. I'm not too knowledgeable on these and I have no wiring diagrams. Any suggestions, and/or wiring schematics, or pics would be of great help. I suggested replacing the whole distributor, but no sense in throwing parts at it until we figure out what is bad. Thanks in advance.

I had a very similar problem on my 89' K5 but ended up swapping to HEI before figuring it out.
Do you have the option to swap out the distributor, maybe off a similar running vehicle to see if you have the same issue?

Check all the grounds. Especially motor grounds.

That makes a lot of sense, as most people check for 12 volts and not whether the ground is well, grounded.

Yes we checked all continuity and voltage. It ended up being the distributor. Thanks for the help. I'm not too keen on distributors. I still don't understand why the old one wasn't working after we replaced everything on it, but at least we got it figured out. Appreciate it guys.
