the 05 is the LLY engine they are the one;s that i have heard have over heating and head gasket issues but they aren't as common as the injector issues in the LB7

My dad has a 2wd 3/4 with 140,000 ton and he hasn't had anything go wrong with it other than the gauge cluster so I'm not much help.

As for the motor and tranny, thats low mileage for a Duramax. Just the norm of any vehicle with those kinda miles. My friend has an 05 LLY with 3XX,XXX on it and its still runs like a top.

160k is nothing... i'd say that's well broken in for a dmax. my dad's 06 LBZ has 105 on the clock and the only thing that hes changed is brake pads and air filters

heavy loads as far as i know i have 200km so around 119 miles on mine and it hasn't skipped a beat yet. Main thing with a diesel is drive it like a diesel not a race car and it will be a very loyal truck
