Default 8.1 engine options??

I have an 03 HD with the non supported 8.1 red headed step child motor. The only good crank for this thing comes in a MerCruiser 496 Mag, nut's. I would like to build a motor with 500+ Hp's (basically just a number) and put out 600+ foot pounds of torque (the good number). Not to sure the stock crank would hold up to that. Has any one ever put a 454 block in for a replacement? It would be nice to retain all of the drive by wire stuff, cruise control is a must. From what I've read the only thing this motor shares with any other BBC is the exhaust manifold, and nothing else. Thanks

I see that Dart has heads and a block, what good are they without a steel crank.

Did you even check out the link to raylars site? They have just about anything you would need.

Yes, and like you say, Just About. If a 454 block would bolt up to the Allison trany and the drive by wire throttle bolt up to an intake, then I would have a MILLION options for vendors, not one that would/could just stick it to you. Stroking a 454 to any size is cheaper than dicking with a gen 7. I'm sure I'm not the only one looking into that option or even thinking about it.

Trick doesn't have a manifold for their unit. I could buy the parts and do it STS style. I've been toying with the idea, it would sound nice.

That was my 01'. It had Raylar head, crank, intake, and cam with 200hp of nitrous.

This was my 03'. Unfortunately I had to sell it.
