No, hitting the rev limiters or speed limiter doesn't throw any code, just cuts fuel.

A buddy of mine bought a bitchin 2000 FRC from the local dealer with the agreement they'd replace the cracked mirrors when they could get a new set in. He took his car in for the new mirrors, and got it back with 120 kilometers more than he dropped it off with, and no new mirrors. I'll be doing a bit of this kind of tuning if he ever has to take it in again.
