Default Valet Mode

In the speedo tab of HPT I lowered all speed limiters to 45mph.

Speedo--->Speed limiter

I also set Rev limit off to 3000rpm on at 2999 rpm.

Engine--->fuel controll--->fuel cutoff--->cutoff rpm vs. gear normal.

I took it for a drive and it works great. Try going into boost and it shuts down, take it over 45 and it gently cuts off. Dropped the truck at the painters and now I can be assured nobody will be taking joy rides

Good thinking! I need to be setting up my truck like that before my wife drives it.

yeah, I had been thinking about this for a while, wish I could set it up with a key switch, hard-wired so to speak but that's well beyond my understanding.

Bill can't you just put a switch on dash for the Valet Mode and then wire it in to pcm?
I know EFILive will let you do that. So when drop truck off at Valet i turn that switch on and it Valet mode.

With the beta you can control throttle to pedal relation. You could make it feel no responsive and/or have the throttle only open half way at max pedal.

Yeah I had heard of that and I think it's possible to have something similar with HPT I just don't know how to rig it.

Email support and ask them for the Beta. Once received they will put a link on your customer login page.

Beta has a few more tables for the older PCMs and a ton more for the newer ones, but it is still a beta which means it could have potentially more glitches than a full public release.

HPT warns heavily about messing with the ETC values, but I believe that EFIlive has had the options for a while and I haven't heard of any bad things happening.

With that said, you should still read up on the beta and check out the EFIlive forums to make sure I'm correct on what I said before you damage anything.

Why would messing with the ETC values be bad? Please explain what table you're referring to.

Yeah I have heard of a few pcm's being fried now after people were screwing with some settings under the Electronic Throttle tab in HPT. At this point I dont feel that the any of the changes under that tab are going to lead to any huge improvements in performance anyways but I was planning on doing some testing soon to find out.
