Tuning 4l80e
#1
Well I swapped out the 60e for the 80e. I bought the wiring connection conversion and the extra speed sensor and had Hp tuners do the segment swap.
My question is now I need to have the 80e tuned or it won't shift right?

But I was told that with out a tune it won't shift right period?
The problem I'm having is I've swapped out the 60 for the 80 installed the conversion harness and the extra speed sensor. But when I put it in reverse it doesn't really won't to move and of what little it does it wants to move forward while it's in reverse?
So right now it's either: ignition switch, tune or something else?
I done a lot of research and for the codes it was coming up with that I needed to replace my ignition switch.
But then I was told that it was it wasn't tuned and it won't shift with out a tune?
I really appreciate any help please!

If you have had a segment swap done and flashed, it should drive fine. Tune will just modify shift points and firmness. Use your scanner to activate the shift solenoids with the key on engine off to verify wiring. Who built your trans??

I built my trans yes it was my first time I had the book and a video and took my time and I'm positive it's something simple. I basically would like to rule everything else before pulling the trans.
