Ok, i purchased an blackbear autocal here on pt.net, been waiting anxiously to get a tune on my gm, but i think my hopes are shut down unless u have any suggestions. My last e-mail with justin was, i'm ready to pull the trigger and tune my truck. I told him i have an apple mac, can i still download what is needed for a tune? He said he has had a few customers with success, but windows is required. Calling apple users!!!!! I need help. I went to the link he emiled me, and it comes down to, i can't download efilive. What do i do or is all my hopes and dreams shot to ****!!!!

I haven't looked recently, but I doubt the hardware requirements for efilive are anything high spec. It runs without a hitch on my 4 year old laptop, so I say grab a cheapy laptop with windows still installed and go to town.

Cant you get windows intalled for fairly cheap? I know alot of computers come with it from the manufacturer but im sure if you took it to like a Best Buy or any other computer place they could hook you up.

I just recently found this out also, when searching up on options for EFI LIVE. I was considering a Macbook Pro, but after reading up, I actually went and looked at laptop PC's today (ironically enough). I want to tune on the same computer I use daily and didn't want to bother with running Windows on a Mac, so I'm actually glad you posted this on here for others to see. I would've hated to be in your situation, had I not read up on it.
I can see the commercial now...
"I'm PC."
"And I'm a Mac."
"I'm compatible with EFI LIVE software."
"I'm not."
"PC wins."

Haha. That's pretty true. I'm still doing some research about the MacBook and elilive. One of my coworkers tonight just told me I could use one of his laptops that has windows, but now when I need to retune something, I have to call him up, drive over there to get his laptop, update it, then return it later. It seems like the cheaper alternative than buying windows, but like I said, it's an option.
