Nothing. I have mine running without PWM. It locks up just fine. Chris at CircleD said it is fine doing away with PWM on a single disc but a multi disc he said the lock up is rather abrupt.

It will still work like an on/off switch so the lockup will be harder.

If you want to delete PWM you need 1 relay, use one of these two schematics...

near the transmission

near the PCM

If you want to keep the PWM you need 2 relays, use one of these two schematics

near the PCM

Is this the mod/writeup that Jake is pissed off about?

holy crap that's expensive. I got my Speartech conversion harnesses for $60. Any more than that and I would just do the 2 wire swap at the main connector.

This is the full harness to run the 4L80e on the 4L60e tune so it has the relays and everything. Yes it is expensive but it is a plug and play kit so not to bad. The pigtails are always $$$.

If you dont mind splicing the harness then just the 5$ relay is all you need and wire it up like the instructions.

Ah, gotcha. In that case it's not bad then. I guess it really comes down to how much the unlocking of the converter bothers you.

So from what I am reading, there is no way in the tune to command the converter to not unlock below 5% throttle. Is this correct? Because I just had a segment swap done for a friend to go to a 4l80 tune and he is planning on stalling it soon. Looks like this is the better way to go.

Jake's performance, you talk a lot of s!@t, but most of what I've seen you say on this forum is just that. S!@t
