Default Open Loop Speed density

Anyone here run OLSD in your truck NA? How are you liking it?

Got a half decent tune on my friends NNBS 5.3 and I am liking it so far. Seems pretty smooth and responsive and has ran its best since he has owned it. I started working on my truck and have only got a few logs in and notice a difference too. Cant wait to get it done and see how well economy and overall driving is.

Its a good option for guys like yourself and myself that own software that can keep a check on things. There are some pros and cons with olsd. IF a vaccum leak or similar issue occurs, there is no safety blanket as no correction can occur. A pro is how you can setup your afr for cruise and lean it out, response does seem a bit better and it makes it easier to tune on most vehicles since you aren't having to touch the maf.

I have done some peoples rides in olsd, but they were mostly track purpose vehicles that saw rare street warrior action.

An old buddy on here has always ran olsd on his truck....dirttrackracer. If you can keep an eye on it, it will be great.

Yeah I have it running a hair rich right now watching things. We both have Wideband gauges and keep an eye on them. I remember dirttrackracer, but isnt his FI?

I am running Closed Loop Speed Density right now while i am waiting for my new intake parts to show up so i can put on the LS7 MAF..

One thing i have noticed on the NBS trucks it the transient fueling seems off compared to running MAF... It just seems like it dumps way toooooo much fuel on tip in and throttle transitions...

Do you have a log of it doing that?

I am sure i could dig one up but it is really hard to tell looking at the log, unless your looking at WOT, the reason i noticed it is because ALL the transient tables are ECT based, the colder the engine the worse it bogs on throttle tip-in...

I see.. Is there any way of fixing it or is it not worth it since your probably going to put the MAF back in

yep you just scale down the lower temp ones... For example these are the values in the table... You can see the colder it is the more it adds...
