I never tuned before I got my software, kinda frustrating at first, I think i have found every way to screw up VE and MAF tuning!!! I think i am pretty decent now, I try to help as many people as i have time for cause I know how frustrating it is to start from scratch...

I think I hold the record for owning HPTuners the longest and doing the least with it. So far, just shift points and speend limiter. But headers and fans are about to go in, so I'm gonna have to finally learn.

I jumped in with no tuning experience at all, it took a while to get up to speed but its been well worth it. I've tuned several of my own vehicles as well as dozens of others.

It would be great if you offered a class for tunning. I would love to learn from one of the guys that actually work in HPT.

I had never tuned, before I started tuning, ...Sorry, but I couldn't resist saying that. I first bought EFILive about 4 years ago, cuz I HATED the way my truck shifted 1-2. From then on, it's just been learning one thing after another. Once you figure out how things work and how one thing affects another, it all just starts to make since

When your ready, I'll hook you up with EFILive

You should throw in a base tune with the software!

I trying to get the software to tune my own truck because the mail order tune I got sucked! I want to be able to get away from the tuner and open up my upgrade options!

I'll throw my 2 cents worth since you asked for newbies. I have had HP Tuners for almost 1 1/2 years. I should know a lot more but for personal reasons took a break in the learning process. A 56 YO that has always messed with carb type cars, and raced a little, thought I was fair in understanding HP and efficiency....Ha Haa!!
There is a learning curve with HP Tuners, but it is way cool. Sometimes I'll think my head is going to explode or I am totally dumb.
Then I'll figure something out and will feel better about the progress. To learn I read a lot, sometimes ask what appear to be dumb questions.....Bill is patient and can attest to that ,,
LOL then after a while the fog starts lifting!!!
Is it worth it? IMO it is! It might be easier to get a Pro tune..... I have learned from reading, asking ? and checking out good tuners tunes...so what, much better then not knowing or learning.
If you give it a shot, and keep in mind its going to take effort you'll probably enjoy it, then again you might be real sharp and it will all be a piece of cake.
I have played with my 2003 Silverado, a 2000 Alero, my neighbors 2004 GMC truck, and 2006 Trailblazer.
