I love having my own tuning software. I'm not that great of a tuner by any means but I can manage to do a decent tune. Its also convenient; otherwise I'd need a shop next door to me because I'm fiddling with stuff on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis.

We currently do not have a downloadable demo of our software, however with that said we do have a ton of walk through demos where you can view how to perform many tasks within our software.

These links can all be found here http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5058

Everything from using the scanner, the editor, applying custom operating systems, etc. is run through.

I am glad someone bring up this topic.. I am similar to Carlos in that I am past middle age & dealt with carbs & hobby drag racing when I was young. I am wishing to experiment with some tuning software even if it is just to see what is happening & what causes errors & dtcs & to clear & correct problems.. thanks for allowing an old dummy to try to learn & improve.

If you buy the HPT suite it comes with 8 credits. Then here is their vehicle support list. It includes the credit cost.

If you use 2 credits to license your truck only, then you will need to use 2 more credits to license the 2006. Your can also license a whole year, that wouldn't help you in your situation though. foff will clarify anything that i misspoke about. I get the credit stuff confused sometimes. But to answer your question, NO you don't have to buy the software again, just more credits if you are out of them. $49.99 each, but you start off with 8 I believe.

I sure it has been asked a thousand times but what is the better to start out with, which one allows you to tune more out of the box? I have two 02 trucks, and on 06 truck I would like to tune and maybe even my fathers 01. Also do any of the support the 08 and up?
