Doesn't seem like a battery/power issue at all. Because you did new battery and did jumper cables, it's going to have full juice.

Nothing with the KEY on at this point will pull enough to cause the battery to drain to nothing and stop the write. To me it's either the software or the computer is fried.

My elm327 cheap ebay scanner can connect to it, but the hptuner scanner wont even read the ecu. it balks at me and tells me that it cant find my vehicles diagnostic protocol.. which is stupid. When i read my ecu the first time, i had to do it with the car on because i was having the same issues. My very first read with key on ignition of had the same symptoms and would just fail. So i started the car and read the ecu that way which worked. Im thinking its something with the software a this point. I have sent my log off to hpt and im awaiting thier support. In the mean time, i want to try everything else on my end before i go spend 150 dollars that i dont have on another pcm lol

If anyone can take a look at this, this is the file that im trying to flash..

What's it going in?

99-02 are specific and 03-07 classic are specific.

That fact that another tool will communicate is an indication you have an issue with the HPTUNERS unit. Likely a software issue. Check that you have the latest calibration as well as the firmware being up to date.

Just re read and saw it was an 06 Denali

ill try that first, but i thinkim still going to grab the pcm. they qouted me 15 bucks for both of them... so im gonna walk up there with my tools in my backpacks. Im going to try to grab the connectors as well so i can make a bench flash system, because if it isnt the software, then it has to be something with my vehicle.

the part number for my ecm , acccording to the dealership is 89017750....is that the same for multiple years?

The number is different for each year because the software is different. The hardware is basically the same.

You can flash an 06 operating system in an 04 pcm.
