I have an 04 sierra, 4.8, with boltons, cam, and obviously a tune.
I have pacesetter headers. Here is my delima/?

My truck has been noticibly getting more of a pain in the *** to drive. Mainly in parking lot speeds, and stop lights. bucking, shutting off, just being a real pain..... but anyways, put a scanner on it and my pass side front O2 sensor is dead as hell. LTFT was 25 on the pass side, while drivers side was -2 or -3 abotu normal. I have replaced this O2 sensor 2 times so far. Now I have heard that having longtubes and the O2 sensor being so far dowstream will cause it to mess up. Have any of you guys encountered this or tryed to fix it in one way or another???

Being farther downstream might make them read a little slow or maybe not get to full operating temp, but it shouldn't kill them any faster. That being said I have been running OLSD since I put my headers on so I don't have to worry about the O2's. I can still log them though and I have not noticed any unusual problems with them.

 

do u think midlengths would give the best of both worlds? As in I could still keep my 02s and not have any problems (with power either)? sorry to hijack

I think mid-lengths are a waste of money. I don't think they flow much better than the stock manifolds.

 

Since your an 04 swap the dead O2 out with one of your back ones if you still have them. That is what I did when one of mine got ruined on my header install...

 

getting a sensor isnt a problem, I can warranty one at work. I am just curious if anyone has tried to move the sensor back to stock or atleast somewhat close to stock location...

 

Mine are right after the LT header collector. After increasing my VE table a little bit my trims seem to be zero most of the time. Except at idle their usally pulling between 3-6% fuel.

 

what headers do you have???
