Default GMT900 steering wheel position sensor replacement?

Anyone done one on a GMT900? Got a C0455 code on my wife's 2011 Yukon. Haven't looked at the sensor yet, wondering if there's an special alignment or anything tricky that needs to be done, or if it's as simple as pulling the old one and reinstalling the new one.

I believe you have to take the column out, or at least lower way down. The bolt for the sensor is on top of the colomn. After that you will need to have the steering wheel postions relearned.

The sensor is just held in place by a plastic clip and should slide off the column once the column is removed. New sensor is supposed to be pre-centred. I bought one for my 2010 Av after the Stabilitrak started doing crazy things and I found a code for the sensor. Sold the truck before I received the sensor though, and it has been fine since I unplugged the sensor and slid it down the column to read the part number off it, then plugged it back in. Just gave the sensor to the new owner. Apparently there were 2 different part numbers used in 2010 and they are not interchangeable.

Perfect, thanks for the info. I'll probably try and knock this out this weekend.

Plug and play yes. It's not popping up with Service Stabilitrak anymore, but I don't have a Tech 2 to clear or see the BCM (or ABS? can't remember) module codes. Had to visit a buddy at a dealer to find out the code.

I actually like the system, think it works really well. I gave it a workout in my LML when I was up in Colorado

Yeah, I had to use my OBDLink MX to find that a code was set.

I'm assuming it will clear on it's own after a certain number of error-free ignition on events?
