Default First blower tune?

Hey guys, im installing a tvs 1900 on my 2011 5.3 lc9 this week. Ive tuned over 50 n/a vehicles, but this will be my first fi tune. I have a maggie tune for a 2010 tahoe with the same motor on my pc. After looking through it, it seems they only changed the maf airflow, timing and pe ratio. Could any of you guys give me some pointers for getting this thing running better than the canned tune they send?

thats all that you need... just make sure you pull enough timing when the IAT spike up, and make sure the fuel is right while boosting..and have conservative timing and everything should work out fine..

Great! Thanks! I'll be using my wideband at some point or another to make sure the wot afr is dead on.

Not the way I would do it at all... what happens if the MAF ever fails? I tune the VE and the MAF tables separately, so it is right in either SD or with the MAF. And, how much boost are you planning to run? If you are running much, the best way is to go to a custom OS and a 2 Bar MAP sensor - ditch the MAF all together...

Well, the pulley they're sending to get my feet wet is a 6psi pulley. But i highly doubt i ever go over 8psi. Im a gm tech and with all the piston/ring issues Ive seen on these motors, i just dont feel like anything over 8 is a smart move longevity wise. Plus, im not building a high hp numbers build here. Just making a big truck a little

If you have tuned a lot of other trucks you should know you need to tune the VE tables with the MAF disabled to get things right. Only then you should dial in the MAF. Also I would hope for bigger injectors with boost? Changes for those will be needed. I would be careful on the PE tables without a wideband.

if using a 2 bar MAP sensor do you have to go speed density?

Are you talking about the issues due to the DOD /AFM lifters ??

Please don't tell my old junkyard 6.0 that's been boosted @12+psi for 4 years now

With EFILive, you don't have to - unless you max out the MAF... Tuned one this morning with 2Bar and the MAF...
