Can the stock 60e stall be tuned to recover 4200rpm?

[QUOTE=Vortec350ss;5209693]Yea the 80e has a much longer 1st gear and tighter ratios from there. The thing to consider is that the 80e is a bigger heavier trans. Unless you plan to add boost to that 5.3 there is no need for the 80e swap. You will never get it performing the way you want because first gear is SUCH a bear without the right power.

this is true i feel mine sucks from a dig until the boost kicks in, the 60e felt lighter and the truck faster but i dont want to have trouble braking them... if not going boost or a good shot of N2O i would just built the 60e

It screams to 55ish and immediately after the 1-2 shift I'm at 60 pulling hard, I let off around 75 never really go above 90.

How will a 60e like these changes with a, respectful foot....I guess lol Floor it maybe once every 100-200 miles

had the exact same reaction as you...cammed my tahoe with a 216/220 .560 114 lsa cam and once i got it retuned my shiftpoints went up to 6300 and my 1-2 recovery is alot better...now imagine what a stall can do for it

Yea I just had a buddy give me a lift the other day with a 5.3L cam bolton and nos, 4L80e and it was kind of a dog taking off at lights till it got into second.

I like that cam a lot, and almost went with it, but I love the stock stall for daily driving. I don't really race the truck and the stock stall is amazing for mpgs, and I don't mind it after the new tune for WOT. I had a 3200 and 2600 in my other truck and did not like the 3200 for cruising around town, but it was way better at WOT than my truck is now. Its a trade of drive ability for performance IMO.

0-100 no break launch

Tire break loose and is alright to 20, but a dog from 20-30 when the tire hook around 20. It's like the motor pauses for a second and then gets back to work.
