Installed my 2 bar map today. What a freaking tight squeeze behind the radix that is!!!
Any crash and burn lessons out there? I am just gonna turn off the maf go open loop(turn off all fuel trims) and tune the hell out of the ve table. I guess setting the pe and be tables for what I'd like to see and just fix the ve table. Once done go back to closed loop-reset fuel trims and not look back on the maf and then retune pe/be for the meth.
Any thoughts, different ideas, better ways? Dusty?-How are you doing with it turbo man? Parish, aren't you 3 bar? Any pointers in general?
How about the whole pe/be scenario, any hard lessons? I know the ecm is gonna pick the richest as long as both are met. Set PE up for 12:1? Then boost how you "really" want it?

Im asumming youve got the 2 bar upgrade for HPT.
Ive tried tuning for boost with a 2bar map and the 1 bar OS and it doesnt cut the values in half like I thought it would.
I would leave the lt's on and turn the maf off first then get the lt's close and turn them off. Its nice having the thing run 100% all the time and not just after a highway drive. Those damn lt's are what makes it seem like it has more power sometimes. But, then again the stft get thrown out of whack easily from temp variances of as little as 5 degrees. With just the STFT anytime the temp or barometer changes drastically you will have to retune I have tunes for the 4 seasons
Ive gotten to the point where the ltft's are off and the maf is on and I just tweak the curve for different temps and barometer its easier than redoing the ve table everytime. You can also tune wot fueling with the maf curve I do it just to make the numbers look nice I like to see 14.7/1.131=13 or 14.7/1.215=12.1 in the divisor table thats me though.
good luck.

This should help.
Also, remember to use your Boost Enrich AND Power Enrich tables..
Boost enrich for adding fuel in the boosted areas, PE for adding fuel in the non boosted regions.
When both tables are applicable, the vehicle will pick the richer of the two tables.

yeh pretty helpful. Seen that on a post awhile back, actually used to get set up.
For now I figure (my own figuring, no advice) I keep them both commanding the same so I can get my ve table in line. Once I am happy with my ve table I will play with the pe and be. I don't want to stumble over them in th emiddle of trying to get the ve right.

really interesting so far. All I am doing is just hitting the ve table right now. It's fun that you actually (safely) hit all over the ve table. It's just too awesome to see past 105map.
What it is really hard to get through right now is the ve table seems easy to program if you are easy on the throttle. Slow transitions. However quick transitions will obviously cause HUGE spikes in the cell that you leave or right before the one you enter. High MAP LOW rpm is what I am talking about. Well if I leave the spike it seems to really make the slow transitions shitty and but the fast transitions nice. And if I take the spike out, both fast and slow transitions are nice but that "unspiked cell" is like +25. I really don't like going into the other cells with that "lean spike". I may be just over thinking and worrying about nothing though.
Nevertheless, I am confident the MAF is dead to me.
