I have Blackgmc's (Coreys) excel spredsheet he did for the 60's and 80's shift rpm and mph settings. My question is once you fill in correct axle ratio and tire hight do you just pick the rpm you want to shift in that gear and put it in your WOT rpm shift table? Then use the mph next to it in your upshift table and subtract 2-3 mph and plug that into your downshift table? Thanks

I think most people set the MPH to zero. That way the PCM is just waiting to hit the correct rpm for the shift.

 

That certainly didn't work on mine.

 

are you using EFI live or HP tuners?

 

I always set mph lower or leave it factory. And just let it shift by rpm i set. Never really wanted to figure out what mph it needs to shift at to hit a certain rpm. Just seems to make more sense to set rpm only.

 

It certainly seems that what you say would make sense. However, it doesn't always work out that way.

 

My 80s have always shifted on command, a stock 60 seems to shift whenever it feels like it.
