Default 4L60 to 4L80 swap without segment swap??

Hey guys,

I just did a 5.3/4L60 to 6.0/4L80 swap on a 2006 Yukon XL 1500 4wd.

Thought everything was looking good and emailed HP Tuners about doing a segment swap so I can flash this rig....and its looking like GM didnt do any 4L80's with our current opperating system which is 12619623.

Bill at HPT said that there was some folks that were able to write it to control the 4L80 with no segment swaps.

Is anybody here familiar with this that may be willing to lend a hand?

The swap is done and is turn key ready, and I have no useable tune!

I really dont want to un-swap this truck.....

Thanks in advance for the help!

Ryan

Relay method. Run an 80E on a 60E tune.

I purchased the kit from TunedByFrost because it's well made and plug-n-play.

I think there is a way to do it with EFI live and just overlay the tunes.

If not, you can buy the Frost harness and it works with the 60e tune. That is what I did.

Why dont you just repin the trans connector? I just looked at the diagram 4L60E vs 4L80E, not much different.

He wants to use the 60 tune, only way to do that is to use the harness provided by Frost or get an 80 overlay tune from an EFI source.

You still need a segment swap.

Even if you buy the frost harness you have to disable a few codes

You can run a 4l80 on a 60 tune, but you do have to disable some codes.
