I have a 2003 silverdo 5.3 i am doing a cam swap and a few other little mods. i am looking for your guys input on who has the best tuning record, and more importantly the best prices because as we know the the ecomony in michigan sucks right now. I have use pcm for less before in my 93 camaro and it was a great. But i am looking for your options so let me know what you guys know or have experenced

 

go with nelsons performance in texas they are the best with your kind of truck, i have a friend who has one with gears, cam and nitrous and they did a tune what worked with his everyday life.

Where in MI? You have a few options, one is Mail Order. We have Nelson and Wheatly as sponsors of this site. You can look for a local tuner, preferably one with dynomometer access too.

 

i am in lapeer i was looking for a mail order tune. its just a the ls6 cam the 550 550 blah blah. a few of my buddies and i have tried several of the local guys and they all pretty much sucked. My one buddy was happier with the mail order tune then the one he got on the dyno.

 

That shoud be a easy cam to tune for via mail order. It's when you get wild with mods/cam thats you need to look into a dynotune or HPtuners etc...

well heres a update i just (30 min ago) just smoked a deer and wiped out the front end of my truck. So now i have the down time to send in the computer and i am going with wheatly to see what he can do. i am going to get a list of every thing i want done and let him have at it.

 

i myself will be driving down to houston next week when i get off for a safty seminar for work. ive already contacted wheatly and set up everything to tune ol black betty up while im down there. i'll let you guys know the outcome of my 6 hour drive home back to north lousiana. im sure it will be something like a bald tire or 2, a few turned heads and hopefully no tickets. lol
