Default Are you crazy too?

I received my replacement stock 5.3 today. A couple of buddies helped me move it into my truck and bring it home to my garage. They then see my garage is a wreck and engine parts everywhere and said "I would never go this far, I'm lucky if I change my own oil" I just laughed itoff. Then as I'm working tonight my neighbor walks by and says "That doesnot look fun at all" I replied "Are you kidding? I'm having a Blast"The messed up part is, I was serious.

There's something about tearing an engine down and replacing or repairing it, putting it all back together, correctly, that is actually fun for me. I'm not going to say I don't cuss and kick things along the way, but I think that leads to the satisfaction when I drive it off knowing I did all the work myself.

Anybody else crazy like me?

I do love the tear down, its like an adventure. Putting everything back together however, is more nervous/scary for me lol.

I was buying two 1/4" thick 4" x 12" pieces of metal at Lowe's to fab up my trans crossmember for my 4l80e swap, kid at the counter asks me what I'm doing. I said a transmission swap in my Silverado, he says oh, that doesn't sound like fun. I said fun to me. I do get tired of it as well sometimes.
