What does everyone do to get/stay in shape?

Well I have been trying to get in shape for about 1.5 monthes now. I have been using or elliptical for about 40mins a day varying the resistance during that 40mins... I also do some push ups and sit-ups afterwards... My wife wont let me get a home gym until i workout on the elliptical for 6 months straight
... My goal is to get down to about 165ish, at my last physical (dec 2010) I weighed 182, which is the most i have ever weighed, so trying to get down on the weight side. For those of you who don't know about my wife, she is a health freak... I don't have any sodas or junk food in the house, so i eat pretty damn healthy, unless she is out of town
...
So what does everyone else do?

i go to the gym at 6 every morning even though it doesnt look like it.....i cant keep any damn weight on myself to turn into muscle
i also go running when i can find someone to go run with along the trinity trails or something....

I go to the gym everyday. I do a solid 1-1.5hrs of working out, either Chest, back and shoulders, arms or legs. Then after that I do 10-15 mins of abs and 20-30 mins of cardio, either the elliptical or tread mill.
From what Ive heard, working out with weights burns just as much, if not more calories than cardio..

well u all ready stated that u dont drink or eat junk thats a good start. me personally i work out twice a day mon-friday. cardeo in the mornings and weights at night. the elips machine actually does a good job staying toned
also do 100 pushups, situps, crunches before turing in. just keep at it you'll get back to 165. lol while your tryin to get to 165 im tryin to gain more weight.
