I'm wanting to try and hit 12s in my truck before I stop modding it.
To achieve this I am going to go with a bigger cam, possibly 224 or 226 range.
Stock 862 heads
Changing to 28" slicks
Recently I ran a 8.5 in the 1/8th in mid 70s weather on street tires. On the conversion charts it shows roughly a 13.2 in the 1/4
The only thing I am worried about is that my mph was only 80.5 when i ran that 8.5, with a 1.95 60ft.
So do you guys think it is possible, that with the bigger cam and 28" slicks that I could hit 12.99 or better?

it is probably because you cam you have now does not have the power up top like a 226 does... so IMO if you swap (and don't be a ***** and get a 114, get the 112 this time) you will have more power up top, which IMO will help your MPH problem...
