Yeah I can appreciate the hard work your goin thru at the moment.
I'm a terrible carpenter but wish I had the patience to do it.

Whoo wooo Pictures! Looks good man, allot of work. Much like cars, house's are fun to mod as well. In the end its the same, you can stand back and know it was done to your standards and that you did it yourself. I enjoy my house.

The difference between modding houses versus cars you dont loose your *** on the upgrades when you go to sell it.

thanks for the kind words. trying to do everything as strong as possible (within reason).....the wood isn't terribly expensive but the time it takes to FULLY beef up the stock stuff is the true cost, i.e. more time without the creature comforts.....at least one room has a/c, we have hot and cold water, half the house has lights with cable TV oh, and flushing toilets!!

If you guys are interested in more updates as they happen I'll keep this one going for a while.....let me know

Looks good, you are certainly beefing up the framing a lot more than when it was originally built. Only thing I would keep in mind, which I'm sure you've thought of, is the new weight of your ceiling joists, you may be doubling if not tripling the weight. Check out your load bearing walls, I've seen a wall with just the right knot in a couple studs collapse over a home renovation where the owner didn't quite take everything into account. But the work looks superb! Cuts look clean, cant see any gaps, keep it up! There's no feeling like living in the house you built yourself.
