Buying first truck back?

If you could would you buy your first truck back?
almost 15 years ago August 2003 i bought 96 s10 ex cab 2wd 5 speed ls 120k miles $3100. Green in color bone stock.
I ask buddy i was in car club with to try find some pics because i dont have any.
Work at kroger, mow grass, installed steros. Anything and everything to make few dollars back then. Now i have good career and invest and save alot of my money.
now i dont have the vin or anything like that to get my orginal truck back. But chevrolet did make more than one. I found one about hour away. One owner 100k miles no rust. Very clean. Old man truck stored in garage.
Now that im older and more frugal with money. Stay at home wife with 2 kids will do that to a man. I worry buying the truck. Getting excited and dumping 3 or 4k in it. Doing ls swap. Nice wheels and ext. In the end its just s10. If i go to sale if i get bored with it. its just a s10. Its not sought after truck. Limited market.
i know my post is all over the place.
your alls thoughts.
thanks

Nope lol.
Mine was a 1994 Silverado Extended cab 4X4 with 236,000 miles on it, I bought for $1,200 back in like 2011. Lasted me a year as second vehicle and sold it with a slipping transmission. It had been in a roll over but still had a clean title from the accident like 8-9 years prior. Every panel had some dents or peeling paint but minimal rust lol.

I thought more replys about peoples first truck.
i argree that are alot better options than buying first truck again. For me any money put in will be a loss.
Around here if you put c10 or 3100 some sort collector truck you can get some if not all money back.
maybe its just me. When i was 17 i always wanted my s10 bagged, nice wheels, bigger motor. I could not afford nor had a place to tear truck apart. I couldnt afford to do alot to truck. I guess now i have opportunity to do it and would like too. But at the same time modding a mini truck is a good way throw money away. Where as if i bag 3100 or c10 i could atleast get some money back.

My first vehicle was a 1986 chevy silverado shortbed 4x4. It was black and silver two tone with the charcoal gray interior, fully loaded and had the 305 with 700r4 transmission. The truck had 70k miles on it and was very nice. I do wish i still had the truck today to drive and enjoy.

I have no desire to buy back my first vehicle as is was totaled 3 times (and that's just the ones I KNOW about). After the 3rd wreck, I sold it for $75 to a kid I knew from the neighborhood.
The car I DO regret selling and would love to buy back is my 1987 Oldsmobile G-body Cutlass Supreme. I sold it in 2007 because it was flooded in 2005 while parked in my garage during hurricane Katrina. I relocated from New Orleans following Katrina and took the car with me on a trailer. I spent the next two years trying to slowly restore it, but the more I worked on it, the more rust I saw. I ended up selling it to a guy who was knocking on my door almost weekly begging me to sell it to him. Even after telling him the cars history, he still wanted it and offered me a fair price so I sold it. At the time I thought it was for the best because I wasn't good with rust repairs, but fast forward 10 years and I have deep regrets about selling it. The amount of rust was definitely not enough to dump the car, but at the time my dumbass didn't realize that.

I am in the process of selling my house, and I have 4 running vehicles of various values, cheapest one being ~4k, so I have a lot of liquidity sitting in the driveway.
However, young me learned a very valuable lesson in college: every time I sell a vehicle I am invested in emotionally and financially, I regret it and take a major loss.
This time, I am not selling any vehicles, tools, bikes. Off topic, I know, but thought I'd share my story.
If I found it in good shape, I would buy my first SC2 back (or one like it). It was Blackberry Metallic, 5spd, 110k on it. I totaled it in HS because I thought I was a bad ***. I think it would be neat to have a piece of American econo-box to commute in, and those DOHC motors were actually pretty peppy with an intake and exhaust on them!
I am the king of bad financial decisions, so I vote you buy it and build it, enjoy it. Life is too short, and dying with millions in the bank does you no good if you lived like a pauper to get there.

No. I bought a 2000 S10 RCSB 4.3/auto brand new. It served it's purpose and was reliable. But, had no room and got horrible fuel mileage for being a V6. I am so much happier with a full size truck.
Out of everything... I mainly miss two vehicles. I had a 1969 Chevelle SS 396 in High School. 375 HP solid lifter car, M21 4 speed, 4.10 gears. I sold it like a dumbass 22 years ago because I wanted AC, overdrive, etc. (I was a damn fool) Then, I had a red 1991 Z28 5.7L car. Fun car, was a great DD. But, fell on hard times and had to let it go. I found it again after about 2-3 years, some idiot donked it out with 20" rims and a shitty paint job. (think a nail polish looking mauve)
After seeing it like that, I didn't want anything to do with it.
