Default SS - AWD vs 2WD

whats your thoughts on 2wd vs AWD in a modified daily driver? Basically I understand awd = ungodly traction and 2wd = little more power to the ground and slightly better fuel economy. I'm looking for experiences living with these trucks. tire wear? handling? wet weather? etc... Leaning toward ordering TBSS AWD right now, due to pulling boats in slick situations ( ) on the weekends, but still undecided.

the 4wd definately comes in handy. What Kind of mpg average do you see with your SSS?

13.3 cumulative. But I have 11.5:1 comp. as well as many other mods.
When I had just a CAI, cat-back, and mailorder tune it was like 14.8-15.1.

awd dont get it if you dont need to. i know 3 customers that blew their stock awd tranny before 5k miles also a few on trailblazerss.com

also i had a sti wrx. awd is fun but after a while you miss laying posi up the entire street.

if you have snow or go to the snow a lot then get one. if not get a 2wd.

Basically if your pulling a boat, liked me, you'll want the AWD. I absolutley love the AWD. Besides everyone knows AWD's are faster !

lol 2wd dyno more stock are a tad faster stock weigh less than awd and the fastest tbss is a 2wd 12.5 with a yank stall tune and intake and 12.1 on the 75 shot.

Ultimately in an SSS (and probably a TBSS) the AWD will limit how much power you can produce -- because it will break and because the transfer case can't be beefed up...

A properly set up 2wd truck vs. an AWD truck with the same mods? 2wd wins. Snow or wet? AWD wins.

If I had to do it all over again, I would get the 2WD, but in '04, it wasn't an option.
