Talking Options for tuning the trailblazer ss??

Ok, background info. I have a firebird pushin 438rwhp...
My boss just bought an 07 trailblazer ss, and keeps askin me if I found out any mods for him yet...
So, this is where you guys come in!
He is leaning towards a power programmer, but I cant find any that have a program for an 07. Plenty of 06's, but not for his year.
So, anyone know?? I know Diablo is the only one I can find.
Also, what are the best bang-for-the-buck mods??
Since I dont know of a 4-wheel dyno up here in MN, I dont think that dyno'ing it is an option...
So, help me get my managers ss fast, hopefully I will get a raise!!
Thanks
Cody

do you have a handheld programmer on your firebird, i dont think so. so dont put one on the TBSS, either find someone who can tune it with Hptuners or efilive OR order him a mail-order tune from someone like nelson performance, pcmforless, or i hear that vector motorsports is good with the tbss's

wasnt trying to sound like an *** but programmers are for people who dont know any better

no offense taken. I do not have a programmer, but my motor is far from stock. His is stock. He is not very motor/electronic smart, so unless I am there to babysit the operation, power programmer it is. Or, like you mentioned, just send the PCM out for retuning. But, then it is pretty close to a power programmer, isn't it?? If I am wrong, please correct me, cuz I have not dealt with this type of situation. I have had a dyno so I can tune myself, but my car is ODBI, and its a piece of cake to tune!!

a power programmer is a canned tune made for EVERYONE that buys it

a mail-order tune, you tell the tuner what mods you have, if any , and tell him wht you want out of it, 87 or 91/93 octane, performance or economy, etc.

with a mail-order tune you order you tune over the phone, they send you a tuned pcm, then you swap it out and either send them the core back and get your core charge back or keep the core for a spare and let them keep the core charge

when you said firebird i was thinkin ls1 but the lt1 still has a pcm to tune, right?

oh BTW, the diablo is the best of the handheld programmers if you decide to go that route

So, these are the three options for mail order tuning on the 07 trailblazer ss?? I think he would want to have two pcms, one as the stocker and one for fun!

I have a motor that has nothing left of a stock nature, everything has been effed with, so dyno was the only way. His is all stock, so this pcm mailing would be definately ok for his ride.

I am a very active member on MNFbody.com and camaroz28.com, so I know how valuable these online boards are.

If you can think of any other places that do this tuning, let me know!! And let me know which one you would chose, and why, cuz I want this done right... no oopsies!

Thanks again!

when i get my mail order tune im going with nelson, but i think **** may specialize in the TBSS so he may be better

nelson, wait4me, pcmforless, westers, *****, is all i can think of now, im sure there are more tuners out there but those are the only ones i can think of now

you might also PM ****** on here. he's in TX but he might tune you a pcm and send it to you, no sure, but i know he does some good local tunes

wow, thanks dude!! So far this **** one looks like he knows his crap. simply wow. The others look ok too, but I have already had bad luck with pcmforless, so I wont be recommending him to my manager! lol. But, I have heard other people having great luck with him... guess I am prolly in the minority there...

There's a shop in Ramsey called ****. I tuned my own SS and there is night and day difference. Driveability is better as well. I'm going to try and make it this week to do some before and after runs. Most TB SS owners go for the canned tunes from vendors with good results. I already had EFIlive, so it was a no brainer to buy the V2 upgrade.
