I think that would all depend on the backspacing and width of the wheel. For example most (if not all) the GM 20s were 20x8.5... from the factory they cam with 275/55/20s (31.91"). Those should def fit your Tahoe with no issues
As for a 305/55/20 (33.21")... that may be cutting it a little close. Id perhaps look into a 305/45/20 if you are dead set on running a 305

If he plans on running 305s he should be prepared to do some cranking and probably some trimming of the valence and inside of the wheel well. Dont the hoes sit a little lower then the silverados from factory?

How about a happy medium? 305/50/22 will be a 32x12 and will fit fine...I've seen them on stock height trucks/SUVs. Just stick with a 20 that's close to the factory size (20x8.5, +31MM offset).

305 ok to run on a 8.5" wide wheel?
My real question though is, why are you wanting to run such a wide tire... even if you plan on putting down some serious #s... you have 4WD?? Not trying to get smart with you, just asking

i have 315s on a 11" rim on my trans am, i think 305 would have to be a 10" rim. i cant decide what the hell to do about rims. i dont want to get 22 or 24 and have some rubber band rough *** riding tires and i want to fill out the wheel well a little better, have a nice ride still, and have some good looking rims. im not hung up on 305s, i could live with 295 or possibly 285, they just wont look quite as tough but i dont want any rubbing issues to have to solve either (a ls1 trans am lowered 2" is hard to accomidate a 315 haha). i wondered about doing 18s with a taller sidewall but having 18s on this big of a vehicle just seems kinda lame haha..

305/50/22 would be sick if they would fit nicely. thats a fair amount of tire i guess. i just hate to lose ride quality when the 75s or whatever on it ride so good (but just look lame on 16s lol) ive got muscles cars that ride like complete ****, this needs to ride good haha... any opinions are appreciated!
