One speaker cuts out when hitting bumps/closing door.. ?
#1
Summary: Whenever I slam the front passenger door closed, the speaker will stop working or start working depending on its pre-slammed condition.
What would cause this? More details below:
I bought the truck and both the front speakers didn't work. I pulled off the door panels and saw that the guy installed Rockford Fosgate speakers- but the terminals were corroded so bad that the speaker wires became dislodged.
So I bought some cheap Wal-mart speakers and replaced both sides, I also upgraded to a 4 channel amp- so the speakers are all now powered by this amp.
Soon after the install, the passenger side front door speaker started cutting in/out whenever I would hit a bump, or when I closed it. Soon it started crackling and I figured it was the "you get what you pay for" scenario.
I just now upgraded to $250 Pioneer speakers for the front. I just got done installing them, and to make sure the problem was gone, I slammed the passenger side door.... and the speaker cut out. I checked the speaker wire going to that speaker, and it LOOKS ok. I mashed it and pinched it to try to see if it is a bad speaker wire (all parts from the speaker, door jam, going to the amp), but it kept playing fine until I would slam the door (I haven't driven it yet to see if it does it over bumps, but I'm sure it will cut out over bumps).
I'm at a loss.. Anything you guys suggest I check?

I have repaired broken wires before in the door jamb area. Its more common than you think. Do a continuity test and have a helper open and close the door while testing that wire. Wiggle the door jamb wire boot also. If you lose continuity at any time, run a new speaker wire.

if the continuity test doesn't show anything swap the speakers and see if the problem persists on the same side or changes with the speakers. I just had a similar issue on a clients avalanche, and it ended up being the speaker itself.

Hey guys, it turns out it was the brand new cd deck I had installed when I installed the speakers...
The detachable face on it is broken, something internal. If I push in the face at the top left corner slightly, the front right speaker cuts out.
