As far as bang for the buck. I went with:

http://cgi.ebay.com/GM-Extended-cab-...QQcmdZViewItem

For a box and two JL w3s and it sounds great. It will get load enough that you cant sit in the truck also.

The whole setup for me with the subs, box, and amp was about $600 and it sounds as good as anyone elses system i have heard around here.

Trust me, there is a huge difference. I use prefab boxes, build boxes, and use stealthboxes. The stealthbox is made of full fiberglass contruction, it contours the truck perfectly and matches the interior. The enclosure volume is perfect for the woofer that comes with it, and in this particular application the box is ported, so it is tuned to a specific frequency for that woofer.

I'd bet my truck that 99.99 percent of the people on this board would be incapable of duplicating one of these boxes.

Also, "buying that JL sub by itself would be better too" doesn't make any sense since any preloaded JL box has a 2 year warranty including the woofers. The woofer by itself only has a 1 year warranty.

I don't think they are shipping yet. I sent in my employee purchase form to JL for mine about a week ago and haven't seen anything yet. I will be impressive. I've built vented boxes for w6v2's before and had nothing but good results. I'm not a fan of them in sealed boxes, but they really come to life with a good tuned ported enclosure.

I have the JL fiberglass Stealthbox center console with a single JL12 in my 2000 ext cab with a 200watt Fosgate amp powering it and it rocks hard! I also had a single 10" JL Stealthbox in the rear of my 94 ext cab and with the same amp it rocked great as well. It's just hadr to match the JL sound and quality IMHO.

I was in the market for a 2006 k1500 Crew cab Silverado, but the sound system is why I haven't done it yet.lol. I'm going to pull my enclosure and amp out and sell it before I sell the truck, but I hate to do without it for any length of time. JL doesn't have anything out for the crew cabs that I am aware of yet. I'm not getting the front console this time so I'll have to look at rear stealth enclosures.
