Default Anyone ever run a couple 18s in their truck?

Hello audio guys.
I used to be pretty heavy into the car audio... back around 1993

Anyway, I've built a ton of different sub boxes, and tried a lot of different stuff. A friend and I used to cause a ruckus at the local SPL comps back then.

Point:
I still have my old Rockford Punch Pro Series 18s and Soundstream MC500 amp.
I was thinkin about maybe installing this stuff into my new truck.

My only worry is that they will shake everything loose in the interior.

So, basically, how well do the newer trucks stand up to the vibration of subs?
Big Loud Subs

PS, I know these are no audiophile type of setup, but the experiance is awesome.

I don't see why not. I am putting 2 12" Type X Alpines in my truck with a PDX1000.1 If those will hold up I am sure yours will too. Just upgrade the alternator....

Thanks for the reply,
I've got the 145 amp alternator. should be good. Amp pulls 60 amps max.

But, I'm wondering if the interiors get loose and rattle easily in the NBS trucks.

Any big bass heads out there?

A buddy of mine is running 3 Powerbass extreme 15's, with an orion 2100 HCCA amp. His roof rattles ALOT, thats the main thing that is rattleing but there realy isnt any good way to fix it.

Im kinda interested to hear what 2 18's would sound like after hearing 3 15's in an ext. cab silvy.

Thanks guys, I'll keep looking into it some more.

drpchvy: I'm sure your buddies truck is plenty loud!
I know those Orion amps haved always been badass.
Which way are his subs facing?

I beat some guys with big systems back in the day.

Gave 1 guy a nosebleed.

I literally couldn't drive when it was turned up.

I guess I want to put it in just to hear/feel it again.

But really, it's way too much!

You guys ever hear of DJ Magic Mike? My old buddy.

I had two 12s with a Memphis Gold 1000 in my truck and some stuff rattles now from the subs and some of it Im sure is due to abusing it at the deer lease. I have JL Audio 12W7 ready to go in with my Alpine screen that should make for some nice sound too. I plan on dynamatting some stuff to try and subdue the rattling it gets on my nerves.

I'm not too worried about the rattling when the music is on, I can tackle that. But when it's off, after I've used the subs for a while. I don't want the truck to sound like an old pile of crap.

DJ Magic Mike.. LOL... Feel the bass! I liked DJ Laz, Bass Patrol (best) and Power Supply.

I love a good system. Im taking the system from my SS and putting it in my truck. 2 12" Kickers hooked to a 850x2 (911 true watts).

Country boy
I'll bet that sounds good in the hatchback.
must be a kicker brand box or something. it fits nicely in there.

Bass patrol does have some really good albums too.
Gotta LOL at the "bass gang wars" on those old albums
