Default 07+ radio in an 04... possible

I know it is not supposed to fit but do you think I could make it fit? My radio has gone out and I am looking for an OE replacemnt. Would anybody with an 07+ measure their radio for me? How hard would this be to make it fit?

Josh

I don't think it is a matter of it fitting or not I think the harness would be different. Look up what the harness for your current radio is and the harness for the new radio you want to swap in is.

Yeah, harnesses are differnet. The 07+ uses two 14 pin connectors and I think the 99-06 use a 16 and a 14 pin.

Does anyone know the pinouts of the old and new radios? As in what each pin does. I might give this a try. My radio has now completely crapped out and I am looking for one that will play MP3 discs.

07+ radio will not work electrically, it speaks a different language on the data bus compared to the OBS 07' and older trucks.

It's probably less hassle just to buy a deck, kit and harness...
