What is the difference between v1 and v2?

 

V2 is able to tune more vehicle types than V1, V2 will soon have black box flashing (flash without a laptop).

If I were to purchase V2 before black box flashing came out, would it just be an update that would work on my software?

 

Yes sir, it's entirely a software update.

Yes, it is. Software updates are downloaded automatically which would include the latest updates to the firmware.
