....that i race my truck.

Sorry i havent been hanging around here lately. My computer's Harddrive took a **** and my computer is DOA! I have to wait till it gets mailed back.

Background for those that dont know my situation: My dad basically only knows about the cam and transmission that i have put in my truck. He thought it was just me being stupid.



I have been trying to find my ******* vibration for the longest time now. My dad took my truck for a drive with the shitty *** stock driveshaft. I handed him the keys and went and cowered in my room till he came back. I met him as he got out of the truck. Two words...******* LIVID!!!

Dad: That sumbitch is gonna kill you!

Beau: Why

Dad: You've put that thing on a track before and dont lie to me.

Beau: Seriously, it was the only safe place to let loose on it. Did you feel the vibration?

Dad: Yea, i felt it.

(Now at this point, im not taking him very seriously and i thought most of it was pretty ******* funny. )

Beau: How fast did you get?

Dad: It got up to 80 in nothing and i let out.

Beau: Did you like it?

Dad: NO! It scared the **** out of me! I have never accelerated so fast in all of my life!

Beau: Thanks! You sure you didnt like it?

Dad: G** DAMNIT! I could beat your *** right now and you think its funny!


So now that his undees are in a bundle, i go out that night with a friend, wake up the next morning and go to work. After work i get home and my old man takes me aside and threatens me upon pain of not paying for my education, that i am not to turn a wrench or spend a penny on it the truck unless its necessary. I can hunt for the vibration but cant fix it. ****!! Oh well this is the first step to getting my old man to go to the track with me and make a pass. This track season is over for me.

Oh well boys, I have some ******* hard classes coming up this semester and i have no computer so there is no telling how much time ill spend on here. See ya.

LOL... don't feel bad. Parents are like that about their kids. I say kids b/c dad's still paying for the education. When you get out on your own (100% supporting yourself), he will ease up on you.

I wanted my dad's 400+HP 440 Magnum-powered '69 GTX. He looked at me, laughed, said I must be on drugs, and that car would kill me if he turned me loose in it. Low & behold, I'm working on building something faster than his. Get this... he and his brother owned it, and used to street race it when they were in college here in BR. On top of that, with software like HPTuners, I'll be controlling all three of my sons' speed limits on their GM-powered vehicles... especially if I am the one PAYING the insurance.

Damn mature, grown-up mentality just took over there.

 

From what i understand, the worst thing my dad would do in his truck is downshift it and let it shoot flames out the back (74 LWB 350 with dual exhaust.) He stopped after he blew the tranny in it. He is a grandpa trapped in a 48 year old shell. My mom thinks its cool but his attitude is older than dirt. Ill get him in the truck and let him hit the nitrous button sooner or later. JFWY. Im doomed.

I know how you feel man. My parents know I take the truck to the strip but they absolutely haaate it if I do anything to it aside from a catback. I guess the only thing that keeps me from being absolutely restricted is that I pay for my own schooling (community college though). Good luck to ya man and good luck this semester.
