my mom is the bitch.. my dad just asks me when im going to learn..my mom is always threatening me that shes going to drop my insurance and that im going to kill myself or some one and all the bullshit everyone else gets..my dad raced dirt track cars most of his life and got burnt out on race cars, so he really dont have much to say about it, he's rode in it a few times and since i got my 6.0 and have a 150 shot in it, he wont get in it, he says he can here it and it sounds good and sounds too fast for me..

My parents hate the fact that I mod trucks. My dad has always driven fast sports cars and everything so he knows where I get it from, but he never really does more than exhaust and intake. Right now he has an LS1 F-body. Hell, I'm 30 years old and he'd kill me if he knew I raced the truck at the strip. But he also knows that I mod the truck, I just don't think he knows how far I take it with some of them.
Now that I am back out on my own and have my own house, its much easier to hide from them. LoL

The best memory I have of me and my dad was when I was almost too little to remember. The first race car we built was a 65 chevy II, primered, loud, fast and still had the original bench seat in it. I remember not being able to see over the dash board but when he punched it and my little *** sank in the crack between the bottom and the back of the seat, I think that moment changed my life. I could've played football and dated hot girls.... but nope, I spent my youth busting knuckles, raggin out old loud trucks, and breathin in the sweet smell of burnt rubber at the drag strip, and wouldn't go back and cgange it if I could. Then my twin little brothers came along and dad couldn't afford to race anymore. He would crawl my *** everytime I tore something up, but deep down, he knew he was the same way, just like his brother, and just like his dad.

i was in the same boat as you beau,
but in my days, all icould do to my 98 350 vortec was a hypertech, pulley and intake, they knew about it and hated it. they also told me to never race it that i blow this and break that
i just had to stop racing, even trade in the truck, finish college and go on my own,
i'm there now for 6 years already. still mod my current truck, he still hates it, but hey i pay the bills, and all he can do is ask, how much have you wasted on the truck, he always says 5000, i say, pretty close.. lmao
get done with classes, get a job, build a 11 sec truck, tell him to get in for a ride and well you know the rest..

btw. that was a funny conversation you had, i couldent stop laughing about the 80 in nothing part..

Damm I tought only my parents were like that. I pay for my own things, school, and mod my truck. The second day i bought my truck off the dealership, i dropped it 4/6, my dad was pissed. Since then my dad has only driven my truck twice and he says its much faster than when we drove it down from Bastrop when it was new. I have all the bolt ons and now i need a cam, dunno how im going to hide that one, might just got with a 212/218 so my tuner can hide it. Hopefully in a year or less I can go all out on my truck.

I know the feeling; both of my parents hate all the time and money I put into my truck, and I haven't done that much, lol. I still can't remember how I explained the pluses of a different converter when my Yank 3000 came in; he seemed to be ok with it but didnt like the idea. Just to give you an idea; the most modification my dad has done to a car was putting a wood steering wheel on his Fairlane back in the 60's......and the fact that he drove a Fairlane
Then there's the fact that he asks me all the time why in the Hell somebody would lower a truck; although I have gotten him to start liking the level look, and he does like my 20's.

I was on deployment when all the boxes started to show up... nitrous, headers, shift kits, etc etc etc.... he didnt really like it at first but he never got too pissed... he told me, "Hell, I did the same ****... I can only expect you to.. you are mine after all..." so next time I go to the track at home... he wants to go with me... because he doesnt believe that my truck is capable of a 12 sec pass LOL... none of the trucks he's done were able to do it without some serious big cube motors in them.... LOL.... "all I got is a little 'ole stock 5.3 with a flow"

That sucks bro, Im glad my parents are cool as **** when it comes to this. My dad has had fast cars all of his life so its nothing new for him, he hated it when I sold the truck becuase he liked driving it. But he likes the car now more i think, its fun to switch cars with him somtimes, his old 68 vette with H/C/I setup it prety damn quick!
