on the ac bro you need to cut some of the chassis of yes some more so the hose can fit all you need to do is take it to an ac guy that does new hoses and get one end with the 99+ chevy inlet and then on the other side just get the original 82+ chevy inlet on the firewall. what i did i used the original hoses from the 87 and the original hoses from the 2003 crompresor and they just cut them and then placed them togheter its really easy if you have the equipment its really easy if not it ran me like 200 for the hose job and 150 for the freon and the electrical work because i didn't want to mess around with it but its probably going to be more expensive overther where you live because here mexico is only minutes away, and labor is much more cheap over there so the prices go down here

Nothing wrong with foreign labor. Who do you think repaired my roof after Katrina? The contractor that sub'd out the labor lost money on my roof because he quoted me a price right before the material costs started going up.

Not yet. I didn't like the color of the clutches. Seeing the bearing in pieces makes me wonder if that was all that was wrong (that and the sprag).

If the verter was bad, would it still stall up to it's "rated" speed? I drained what I could out of the verter (no metallic stuff seen in the fluid coming directly out of the verter), but would feel better if it were drilled out, drained, and weld-sealed. I remember what looked to be shavings in the pan, but it wasn't a whole lot (saw that right where I found that one metal piece in the pan). How would you know if the verter is bad?

Cool... I may try it out again (since I now own a trans jack). As far as being broke more than fixed, not that it's a good thing, but luckily it was a different component that got fubar'd. At least I now know a few weak components and limitations of the 4L60E. I heard you ran thru a few before you became "seasoned" in trans rebuilds.

Now... for you and Vince.... VINCE!!! Where are ya?!?!?!?! I ordered a new clutch kit b/c I didn't like the mildly discolored clutches and steels in my trans. The kit shipped out from Oregon Performance today. Since I'm waiting, I've been going out every couple of days to inspect (gawk) at the parts I have, in hopes to catch something that I may have overlooked the previous time. Well... how about this:

Here's an even closer shot:

For those that don't know, that is the Input Sun Gear Bearing Assembly. I found that to be cracked while I was outside BBQ'n yesterday. Question... where can I pick up a replacement locally?

*edit* NM... dealer part. $6.58!
