my son is freaking out!!

like i say...freaking out!! he is almost 6 months old now. normally, up until last week, he loved his bathtime! i give him a bath when i get in from work, as i always work late. he chills in his little babybath while i cleanup the bathroom, brush/floss my teeth, etc.... he loves it! until last week.
i bought a new liner for the shower, cause those ******* get dirty lookin so quick, and i was gonna put it on while he was in his little bath tub. well, i guess part of it draped over his face where he couldnt see me, and he flipped out!! i mean flipped out!! he screamed and started running, but he was laying on his back, then burst into tears....like someone was hurting him.
i thought it was the cutest thing i ever saw, until the next night when i put him in his bath, he was cool for a second or two, then he glanced over his shoulder and saw that damned liner.... freaked again!! same ****, screamed his little head off for 20 minutes, long after he was out of the tub.
since that night, every freekin time i give him his bath, he looks around and checks over his shoulder....then starts freeking out on me.
any suggestions? i took the liner and curtain out after the first two nights of this ****, but he still is petrified of his bath. i dont know what to do, unless i should bathe him in the kitchen sink??

lol....add this to the list of peculiar things I've read on the macho truck forum.
I would actually do the opposite as what you have done. I would not take down the curtain and I would try to desensitize him by playing peek a boo with it perhaps.
I feel that babies (children) are nothing more than size limited people and I treat them as though they understand more than what is normally thought of them. By taking it down and washing him in another room you are sheltering him from learning not to fear the curtain.
I was taught and I taught my kid to face the fear and deal with it....I'm sure there are other opinions and I am in no way the expert in the matter, just my opinion.

you know what though man, its not hard to act macho and all that ****. its hard to be a good caring father. what i thought was tough and cool years back turns out to be the least of my concerns these days. although, my truck is still on my list of cool things!
i will try that though......anything to make it better for him. its kinda funny to see, for a second or two. then i get annoyed with the crying crap. i guess we will play peek-a-soapscum tonight with the liner.

that made me laugh at my own joke.

Does he have his own little bath tub or is he in your bath tub? If he is in your bath tub, then get in there with him for a couple of nights until he does not freak out anymore. Worth a shot....
BTW kids are so cute, can't wait to have one of my own instead of leaching of my sisters kids....

Being a dad is the most rewarding thing I have ever done, I am blessed with a beautiful, intelligent child who through the differing personalities of her mother and I has become a woman all her own taking the best from both of us. She will be 20 in June. Spend as much time with your kid, don't act like there is time tomorrow for they grow up quick and the next thing you know they're gone.
I took my daughter out to lunch Saturday, she jumped on the back of my Harley and we cruised around the parking lot and went "wee" like when she was a little kid, lol.

only thing i would say is wait until you have a steady job where you can provide for your child, if you can wait. i am SOO glad i waited, now i can give him all he needs, but love is free my friend.
either way, kids drain the **** out of the old bank account!!
the delivery bills just quit rolling in, hospitals charge out the *** for everything. i think if we wouldnt have had insurance, it was approaching $15K all in all.so either have good insurance or become an illegal alien, they have their babies for free.

I was just joking. he will be fine. Maybe you should let him watch you take it down and fold it up as small as you can get it and then let him see how small and unscary it really is then unfold it to show him what it is again then fold it up again so he can confirm that it is not scary at all , let him hold it then unfold it and hang it back up.
